We are excited to have Brett Ullman with us, sharing about his book Parenting: Navigating everything. Brett has been married for 23 years, has two kids and was a teacher with the Toronto District School Board for 10 years before moving into speaking full-time back in 2005. He travels North America speaking to teens, young adults, leaders, and parents on topics including parenting, mental health, men, sexuality, pornography, dating, and media. Build an Authentic Relationship With Your Child

- Instead of just telling them what to do, teach them the "why" behind it

The Pressure to Conform
- Christians do life differently
- Kary Oberbrunner: You can conform to the world or you can be a transformist
- It's okay to say we do this differently in our family
- Do what's best for your kids
- Don't worry about conforming and looking at everyone else
- Conforming is usually status quo and that is usually mediocrity
Slow Parenting

- Take time to sit and eat not rush through
- Take a slower pace so we don't miss the day-to-day things
- Find things to do together and enjoy them
Social Media
- Follow people you don't agree with to get a different perspective
- Use it to sharpen you and challenge your viewpoint
Refresh and Renew
- Pivoting as we all try to figure this out
- What will the next few years look like?
- Online courses with all his talks and resources

- People desperately need help with mental health and ways to connect right now
